An incredibly challenging ultramarathon race that takes place in Death Valley, California, known for its extreme heat. The race covers 135 miles through the desert, and temperatures often exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Badwater 135

I was a crew member for Badwater 135, which meant I had to wear multiple hats: personal assistant, driver, chef, therapist, pacer, and (drumroll please) videographer. That's right, I was responsible for capturing all the best moments of the runner's journey through Death Valley on film. No pressure, right?

Trying to get the perfect shot while also pacing the runner, providing water and food, driving the support vehicle, and letting him know that he still had “120 miles to go” was like trying to juggle flaming knives. And don't even get me started on the heat! It was like standing in the middle of a volcano. Let's just say my footage looked more like a horror movie than an inspiring running documentary. But hey, at least I managed to capture some of the runner's best "I'm dying" faces on camera.

All joking aside, it was an amazing experience to be able to document my friend’s journey and capture his moments of triumph and struggle. Despite the challenges, I managed to get some great footage that helped tell the story of his incredible achievement.
